Signs Of Infertility

If you have been trying to conceive for some time without success you might fear that you have a fertility problem. Infertility is most often described as the inability to conceive after one year of frequent unprotected intercourse. Don’t be afraid of the term infertility as it does not always mean the inability to conceive but rather indicates a diminished ability to conceive.

Acute medical conditions that can cause infertility are usually quite obvious and easy to identify, for example the condition amenorrhea, the complete absence of menstrual cycles, is a clear signal of a reproductive problem. But if you don’t experience any of these very clear signs of infertility you will be left wondering why you can’t get pregnant. Well there are many other tell tale signs that your fertility is not working at its maximum, one of which is painful periods.

‘Period pain’ is quite common and you probably even talk about it amongst your women friends. Some gentle cramping is less likely to be a major cause for concern than is quite acute period pain which can indeed be a sign of infertility.

If you experience painful periods then you need to rule out certain conditions by visiting your health care professional. You should be checked for the presence of conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids and any other problems your doctor might consider given your specific symptoms.

You can improve your fertility by targeting the specific condition you might uncover and therefore maximising your chances of getting pregnant.
